Pinus densiflora 'PYGMAEA' Japanese red pine

Pinus
Pine trees are superb trees which grow in a wide climate scale - from cold northern countries to hot coastal sites. They are probably most beautiful in their natural environment.Japanese red pine is very similar to Tanyosho pine with its umbrella-like, mushroom-head crown. It is a slowly growing tree of a shrubby appearance. Needles are long, dark green with pale blue tint, soft. Bark is orange to red hence its cultivar name red pine. As every pine, it needs full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic soil.
