Arendsii hybrids of moss saxifrage are cute little perennials with evergreen foliage and masses of flowers early in the season. TOURAN™ is a Dutch series and most of the varieties (5) were developed by Martien Everett Gutter, only 2 of them were bred by Henricus Godefridus Wilhelmus Stemkens, the same breeder behind the ALPINO™ EARLY series. TOURAN™ WHITE is one of the two and was granted these patens: EU33851 (Europe – 2013) and PP24005 (USA – 2013).Description of the plant:
TOURAN™ WHITE is a white flowering moss saxifrage variety. From all other whites its differs by larger and well-flat, wide opened flowers atop about 10 cm tall, slender stemsThe plant forms a compact clump of evergreen, soft green leaves. Flowers come out in profusion and create a breathtaking colourful carpet. It grows at moderate growth rate, doubling its size within one year.
Saxifrage likes moist but well-drained, loam-based soil and location in full sun or partial shade. It will form a dry nest in its centre in too dry soil in full sun. Hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4). NOT suitable for pots and dry rockeries.
