Frosted Curls is a tufted, evergreen New Zealand hair sedge variety with narrow leaves that curls at tips. The leaves are light green in spring and summer, after flowering in late summer they turn light sandy yellow, and finally in winter they are soft bronze.
This sedge is a low-maintenance grass which needs no extra care once established. Though, removing its foliage after winter will enhance brand new, fresh green growths. New Zealand sedge will thrive in sun and partial shade and needs well-drained, medium fertile soil. Avoid extremes of wet and dry conditions. It proved hardy in Czech winters to -24°C (USDA zone 6).
