Unlike other varigated cultivars, this plant is a natural hybrid from Japan, considered one of the most beautiful bamboos. It has very large upto 25cm long leaves with stunning creamy-white varigation. Depending on the amount of sun during summer, it may announce coming of cooler weather tipping the leave edges with pink. It has a vigorous and strong root system which allows the plant re-establish even after a very severe winter, however, it may become invasive. If you wish to keep your bamboo in limited space, plant it in a large container with removed bottom, or make a few large holes in the bottom as drainage and cover them with textile to keep the roots in from further expansion.
