Abies lasiocarpa 'COMPACTA' dwarf subalpine fir

Dwarf subalpine fir is another jewel among silver-blue conifers. It grows slowly and is suitable for even the smallest of gardens, for rockeries or as a complement of any evergreen arrangement. The needles are about 2cm long, stiff, flattened, bright blue with a white stripe on top. The older it gets the denser it is.
Firs like moist but well drained, acid soil, sunny location with some shade from the hottest sun. Depending on soil quality it can grow 2-3m tall and about 2m wide. Fully hardy to about -28°C (USDA zone 5).
