Anemone hupehensis 'PINK SAUCER'™ Japanese anemone

Pink Saucer™ is a Japanese anemone variety. These anemones are late flowering perennials, commonly grown for their autumn display of flowers. This one is quite early as it that begins blooming in late July and continues throughout autumn until the last sunny days of October. Its flowers are light pink with petals of uneven size, and a bright yellow centre. Basal leaves are deciduous, palmate, mid green, sharply toothed, sparsely hairy beneath. Stem height varies with location and can be anything between 40 and 80 cm. Nevertheless the plant remains compact and offers uniform flowering over a long period.
Japanese anemones like moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic, and well-drained soil. When planted in full sun, and if you live in area with cold winters make sure the plants are well mulched to keep the roots cool and away from dry frost. They prefer slightly drier conditions before flowering in early summer, as well as in winter. Hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
