Description of the plant:
Giant angelica is a bold-leaved perennial with very unusual flowers. They are formed in deep purple-red umbels, borne on 1.5-1.8m tall, strong stems, and appear from late July until early September. Leaves are large, divided in the manner that they look like palmate, mid green, and deciduous.

Wildlife angelica is a biennial or a short-lived perennial which is reproduced by seeds. If you want to grow it like a perennial remove spent flowers before seeds are formed. This way it stays in a clump. Otherwise it will come out from seeds which produce plants that flower in their second year. Grow it in fertile, constantly moist soil of any pH, in full sun or light shade. The flowers attract wasps. Hardy to min. -24°C (USDA zone 6), possibly more.
