Aster tongolensis East Indies aster

This aster bears large, lavender blue ray-florets in May and June on approximately 60 cm tall, almost leafless stems. The centres are golden yellow and the flowers look like a violet form of moon daisies. The leaves are mat-forming, deep green.
It likes evenly moist, medium fertile soil of almost any pH value. It will look great in front of a border or placed between two shrubs. Grow it in full sun and divide the clumps every three years for profuse flowering. Hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
