Echinacea ORANGE SKIPPER 'Orange273' coneflower
Echinacea
Henricus Holtmaat is a Dutch breeder who focuses on coneflowers, astilbe, and bee balms, and so far has patented a long line of beautiful varieties. ORANGE SKIPPER coneflower is another success of his, bred in 2012 as a cross of popular Cleopatra variety.
ORANGE SKIPPER is a beautiful coneflower with deep orange to soft red flowers. They are sweetly fragrant, about 10 cm across, and appear from early July until late September atop strong, green stems about 50-60 cm tall. Lanceolate leaves are dark green and grow from the ground and then up along the stems. GOLDEN SKIPPER is a compact, bushy, and freely flowering perennial. Flowers attract butterflies and bumble bees and benefit from regular deadheading.
