Description of the plant
Vintage Wine is a perfect name for this coneflower. Its colour does look like good red wine when through crystal clear glass into the setting sun. Flowers are large and come out over a long period. This coneflower produces more and more stems year by year and makes a thicker clump with many profusion of flowers. Fully hardy to about -40°C (USDA zone 3).
