FOLICUR® fungicide
Folicur is a modern systemic fungicide designed to protect cereals, oilseed rape, grapes, and many other crops against a broad spectrum of fungal diseases. It works both preventively and curatively – penetrating the plant and stopping the spread of infection. In oilseed rape it also acts as a growth regulator, improving winter hardiness and crop quality.
-
What it can do: Protects cereals against rusts, powdery mildew, septoria, and fusarium; oilseed rape against phoma, cylindrosporium, and sclerotinia; grapes against powdery mildew. Works preventively and curatively, with long‑lasting activity (2–4 weeks). In oilseed rape it also regulates growth (shortens and strengthens the crop).
-
What it cannot do: Does not act against bacterial diseases or late blight of potatoes. Resistance may develop if the same active ingredient is used repeatedly.
-
What to use instead: Alternatives include other triazole fungicides (e.g. Horizon, tebuconazole generics) or combination products (e.g. Prosaro, Tilmor). In organic farming, copper‑based products or biologicals (e.g. Polyversum) are used.
Folicur contains tebuconazole (250 g/l), an active substance from the triazole group (FRAC code 3). It acts systemically – absorbed by leaves and roots and distributed throughout the plant. Its mode of action is inhibition of ergosterol biosynthesis, a key component of fungal cell membranes. This stops mycelial growth and infection spread. The effect appears within hours of application and lasts 2–4 weeks.
-
Application: foliar spray during vegetation, preventively or at the first signs of disease.
