Lonicera nitida 'SILVER BEAUTY' honeysuckle

Silver Beauty honeysuckle is an evergreen or semi-evergreen, low-growing shrub with attractive foliage. The leaves are very glossy, mid green with pure white margins creating silvery effect. It grows fast and new branches are composed in dense fronds, forming a prostrate shrub. In zone 6 it grows 60-80 cm tall, and about 1 m wide.
It is used in multiples as a fast growing ground cover in large areas or under tall trees, or in various combinations in mixed borders. Great for slopes. For denser growth you can prune it at the end of March, or shape it by end of July. It is widely soil adaptable but thrives in fertile, moist soil that will not dry out in winter. Mulching is strongly recommended for zone 6. If affected by a severe winter it usually re-sprouts by end of spring. Hardy to about -20°C (USDA zone 6b).
