Malus 'ROYALTY' crab apple

This crab apple is a beautiful small tree with excellent flowering in the spring. The flowers are deep pink to bright purple and are followed by non-edible dark purple-red small fruits. The leaves are small-ish as opposed to real apple, glossy, deep burgundy red throughout the season with no conspicuous colour change in autumn. It is a very decorative tree that will offer a superb contrast when planted next to bright green coloured trees.
Crab apples are not picky about soil type or pH. It just has to be well-drained. If you want to maintain compact shape and smaller size of the plant prune it at the end of winter. Grow it preferably in full sun. Fully hardy to -34°C (USDA zone 4).
