Swiss stone pine is a beautiful one with dark green needles with a silvery stripe. So its overall appearance may seem a little turquoise. It grows slowly, forming a dense conifer with rather irregular growth when young and more or less pyramidal with age.
Growing conditions and care
Owing to its slow growth rate, similar to pinus leucodermis, it is ideal for mid-sized or even small gardens. Grow it in full sun, in poor to semi-fertile, well-drained soil. It hates waterlogging and fertilizing. Fully hardy to -34°C (USDA zone 4).
