Symbivit (arbuscular)Erdi Bötermö is a Hungarian variety of sour cherry which may please sečet cherry lovers, too, as this variety is both sweet and sour. It bears medium-sized fruit early in the season, deep red with red flesh and a lot of juice. Still, the fruit remains consistent and is great for deep freezing so you can enjoy a cake with “fresh” sour cherries in the middle of winter. The name was so unusual and hard to spell that the plant was given another name in the USA: Danube®.

It is a self-fertile variety that needs no pollination partner. It crops reliably every year, bearing plentiful of fruit at the ends of partly weeping branches. Semi-vigorous. Grow it in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun. It will benefit from extra watering during dry spells from spring to early summer before the fruit turns red. Hardy.
