Rosa 'KNIRPS'® standard rose by Kordes

KNIRPS® is one of the most profusely flowering polyantha rose by Kordes. It produces medium small, rich pink, fully double flowers from June until November. The flowers are so resistant to cold that in spite of having been hit by the first frosts they can continue blooming if the weather changes to mild. KNIRPS® was introduced in 1997 and awarded ADR in 2004. It received Gold Medal in Baden-Baden and Silver Medal in Adelaide.
Foliage is deciduous, rich green and glossy. The plant height is dependent on the height of stem (the top is grafted) and the crown does not grow much upwards since its shoots tend to weep bearing so many flowers.
Planting instructions: Plant it in the same level as it is now in the container. Provide a good support for the stem. Water it well and mulch it for winter. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun. If you live in a region with harsh and long winters protect the crown and the grafting point with white woven.
Pruning: These roses needn’t be pruned. Still, we recommend shaping the crown in early spring in order to achieve a good and strong framework. What you can do, too, is deadhead spent flowers above the first leaf with 5 leaflets. A few doses of good quality fertilizer will enhance flowering and the flowers will last longer.
