Sanium Ultra insecticide
Sanium Ultra is a fast‑acting insecticide for both sucking and chewing pests on fruit, vegetables, and ornamental plants. It works by contact and ingestion, killing pests when they touch or feed on treated plant parts. It protects potatoes from Colorado beetle, apples from codling moth, cherries from cherry fruit fly, onions and leeks from leaf miners, strawberries from blossom weevil, and many more crops. The effect is rapid, even at lower temperatures.
-
What it can do: Controls a wide range of sucking and chewing pests (aphids, Colorado beetle, codling moth, cherry fruit fly, blossom weevil, flea beetles, etc.), acts quickly, has a repellent effect, and can also be used as an early‑season spray against overwintering pests.
-
What it cannot do: It is not systemic – it does not protect new growth, so thorough coverage of the plant is necessary. It is not effective against spider mites. At higher temperatures (above 24 °C), the efficacy of pyrethroids decreases.
-
What to use instead: Alternatives include other pyrethroids (e.g. Decis, Karate Zeon) or systemic insecticides (Mospilan, Sanium System). For organic growing, NeemAzal or oil‑based sprays are possible options.
Sanium Ultra contains deltamethrin (15 g/l; 1.5% w/w), a synthetic pyrethroid. It acts as a contact and stomach poison with a strong repellent effect. It also has partial ovicidal activity, reducing larval hatching from eggs. The effect is rapid, even at lower temperatures. Because it is not systemic, all plant parts must be evenly covered during spraying.
-
Application: spray at the first signs of pest presence, until runoff.
