Syringa

Lilacs are common and reliable shrubs of our climate. So it is clear that we will not offer you something that can be seen at every corner, but speciality plants that look a bit different and bring something extraordinary to your beautiful garden.

Description of the plant

Meyer lilac comes from China and is a dwarf plant. Palibin is a variety with flower panicles that are just a little larger as opposed to the species. The colour of the flowers is lavender pink, the buds are burgundy purple. It grows very slowly, forming a dense mound, flowering profusely every spring. Deciduous leaves are rounded with a tip, fresh green and glossy. Pruning is not recommended.

Growing conditions and care

Lilacs can be grown in many soil types. For best result use reasonably fertile, moist but well-drained soil, preferably neutral or alkaline. Full sun for profuse flowering. Fully hardy to -40°C (USDA zone 3).
