Taxus baccata 'FASTIGIATA AUREOVARIEGATA' Iris yew

Irish yew is a popular evergreen conifer. They are very practical due to many varieties available offering various shapes and sizes. Another advantage is that they grow well in both full sun and in deep shade.
Fastigiata Aureovariegata is a very elegant variety of yew with golden yellow margins along its deep green, thin needles. It has strictly upright, narrow habit. It grows very slowly which makes it suitable for small gardens, too. Until it reaches full maturity it seldom exceeds width of 1m. The height varies by location and soil fertility. Female plants produce red berries that contain poisonous seeds.
Yew can be pruned in spring or trimmed in late summer for hedges. It withstands hard pruning into old wood. They are tolerant of all soil types except boggy and wet. Fully hardy to -27°C (USDA zone 5b).
