Trollius chinensis 'GOLDEN QUEEN' Chinese globe flower

Chinese globe flower is a fantastic perennial, especially this variety: Golden Queen. From mid May until end June it produces 40-80 cm long stems with pumpkin orange or golden yellow flowers that come out from globular buds and when fully opened they show an attractive set of erect stamens that look like a princess crown.
Leaves are palmate, finely divided, dark green. After flowering the plant can be pruned hard to encourage growth of new leaves for the summer season and perhaps a few flowering stems at the end of summer.
Chinese globe flower loves damp situations and does not mind harsh winter (it comes from Siberia and northern parts of Asia). It will grow in any soil type, any pH. Hardy to about -45°C.
