Acer pseudoplatanus 'LEOPOLDII' sycamore

Sycamore trees are our native plants and their various cultivars find their use perhaps in all types and sizes of gardens. If your garden is not very big and you would still like a maple of this kind try this one. It was first introduced at the end of 19th century and has been a sought after gem ever since.
Leopoldii is an attractive, small to medium-sized tree which you will not find in cultivation too often. Its deciduous leaves are large and painted green and white. Each one is different and unique. This variety does not produce reversed branches with solely green leaves. Stalks are purplish red. Autumn foliage colour is yellow. It is a reliable show-stopper that requires zero maintenance.
The crown is rounded to widely oval and the tree grows medium fast. It can easily be pruned or shaped at the end of winter and kept smaller. It is soil adaptable, provided it is well-drained. Grow it in full sun. It can take air-pollution, cold and wind. Fully hardy to -34°C (USDA zone 4).
