White birch is a native tree of Siberia and Russia, that is why you can see so many of them in Russian movies and fairy tales.

Laciniata is another name for Dalecarlica of gardens. It is an elegant variety with finely textured, deeply lobed, deciduous leaves. They are dark green and glossy in summer, turning yellow in autumn. The trunk is showing peeling off bark, changing to almost black with age.

It grows fast into an airy, majestic tree about 20m tall. It likes moist soil but adapts to all soil types, when established it can even accept long, dry summers. Fully hardy to min. -45°C (USDA zone 2).
