Deutzias come from eastern Asia. They are low-maintenance shrubs ideal for every garden size and very gardener as they are so easy to grow.
Mont Rose is a hybrid variety of deutzia with light rosy-pink flowers. They are almost star-shaped with a conspicuous crown of stamens in the centre. The name means a mountain if pink which is exactly what this deciduous shrub looks like in full bloom. Lance-shaped leaves are mid green with bluish shade.
Trimming is not needed but if you wish to trim or rejuvenate older plants do so immediately after flowering. Deutzia flowers on previous year’s wood so it needs to make new branches with flower buds before winter. It forms a shrub with drooping branches, about 2m tall and wide.
Deutzias are quite soil adaptable. They like full sun but will grow in part shade, too. Fully hardy to about -30°C (USDA zone 5).
