BELONGS TO CATEGORIES Deciduous broadleaf

Deutzias come from eastern Asia. They are low-maintenance shrubs ideal for every garden size and very gardener as they are so easy to grow.

Plena is a simpler name for Flore Pleno variety of deutzia that bears double flowers that are pink on the outside and pure white inside. It forms an airy shrub with slightly drooping ends of the branches. Deciduous leaves are lanceolate, mid green. The plant grows about 3m tall and a bit less wide.

Trimming is not needed but if you wish to trim or rejuvenate older plants do so immediately after flowering. Deutzia flowers on previous year’s wood so it needs to make new branches with flower buds before winter.

Deutzias are quite soil adaptable. They like full sun but will grow in part shade, too. Fully hardy to about -30°C (USDA zone 5).
