Lola masterwort is an elegant perennial whose beauty is best viewed from up close. Its flowers are not larger than 3 cm across and are composed of soft pink bracts lying flat under numerous umbels of the same colour, elevated above the bracts in a pincushion-like shape.
Almost leafless stems are 40-50 cm tall and produce flowers from late spring until midsummer. Deadheading will prevent from self-seeding. Palmate leaves are 3 to 7-lobed, mid-green. Masterwort likes moist and humus rich soil but once established it will tolerate summer drought. Fully hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
