Thread leaf coreopsis is a wonderful, maintenance-free perennial which shines its way through any garden with rich-coloured flowers all summer long. You can have a country cottage garden or be a city-garden enthusiast, coreopsis will still have features suitable for your plot.
Moonbeam is one of the most reliable and sought-after varieties of thread leaf coreopsis. Its small, daisy-like flowers are light yellow just like moonlight. Its extremely long flowering period begins in early summer and ends in the last warm days of autumn. Deadheading will enhance flowering but is not necessary, it flowers abundantly every year. Thread-like leaves are very narrow, rich green and not very dense. Stems are thin and slightly procumbent at the peak of the season. Moonbeam coreopsis will not self-seed.
It will grow in virtually any soil and as it withstands drought it is popular for rockeries. It seldom grows taller than 30 cm. Fully hardy to min. -30°C (USDA zone 5).
