Topaz is our excellent apple variety bred in the Czech Republic. It represents everything you want from a low-maintenance apple tree: great fruit, disease resistance, and hardiness.

Topaz produces high yields of large, rounded, red-striped fruit late in the season. They can be picked from October. Eaten fresh they have a sharp but sweet flavor and contain enormous amount of juice. After a few weeks of storing they become milder and very sweet, keeping their crispy texture. They store well until late March or April under good conditions.

Being self-sterile it needs another pollinator for heavy crop, such as Elstar, Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Golden Reinette, James Grieve, Jonathan, Melrose, Otava, Pinova, Rajka, Rubinette, Rubinola, Spartan, Starking. It grows moderately into a mid-sized apple tree. Pruning is recommended in late winter – reduce long shoots to keep the crown compact. Hardy to min. -27°C (USDA zone 5).

STANDARD QUALITY - Plants of this group are 1st class quality with number of branches and overall density adequate to their size and age, considering they were container grown.
DE LUXE QUALITY - This label guarantees a luxurious quality of manually selected plants that, compared to their height and age, are exceptionally dense and beautiful.
EXTRA - These plants are usually mature and bigger specimens with exceptional overall appearance.
STANDARD (as described in the plant form) means a tree with a trunk of 190-210 cm and a crown at the top, unless specified differently. The commercial size for trees is their girth measured in the height of 1m from ground.
