Silver Scrolls is a coral bells variety with almost rounded, rather flat leaves. They are dark green to deep burgundy brown with rich silvery marbling enhancing the veins. Foliage colour does not change dramatically during the year, only in winter the reverse turns rich purple violet.
In June and July small, creamy white, nor very showy flowers appear atop about 50-60 cm tall stems but if you think they spoil the image of the perfect leaves you can cut them off yet before they begin to bloom. The leaves remain nice and healthy throughout all winter if the temperature is mild, still, we suggest removing them all in early spring to encourage new growths.
Coral bells can take almost any soil, as well as full sun and humidity. For best results grow it in humus-rich, constantly moist soil in full sun or part shade. They are fully hardy to abt. -34°C (USDA zone 4) and can be grown in outdoor pots where they look particularly pretty thanks to the foliage overlapping the pot edges.
