Every garden will gain another dimension if given a columnar, tall but slim shrub. You may know Mediterranean cypress which grows thinly right up to the skies. An excellent alternative for our climate is this rocky mountain juniper. It has silvery-blue to blue green colour and strictly upright growth and columnar shape. It prefers poor soil of any pH. Do not fertilize. In regions with heavier snowfall we recommend tying it up with a cord to prevent side branches from bending under heavy snow. Fully hardy.
