NEEM AZAL natural insecticide
Protective preparation for plants for organic and ecological growing
NeemAzal T/S is a natural insecticide suitable for organic farming. Its active substance, azadirachtin, is extracted from the seeds of the tropical neem tree (Azadirachta indica). It controls a wide range of sucking and chewing pests such as aphids, caterpillars, thrips, whiteflies, fungus gnats, and leaf miners. After application, pests stop feeding and weaken, dying within a few days. The product is safe for beneficial organisms and leaves no harmful residues in the soil.
-
What it can do: Stops feeding and development of larvae, reduces fertility of adults, works also against leaf‑mining pests. Suitable for vegetables, fruit trees, vines, herbs, both outdoors and in greenhouses.
-
What it cannot do: It does not control true bugs. The effect is not immediate, as pests die gradually over several days. Good leaf coverage is essential.
-
What to use instead: Alternatives include other biological products (oil sprays, Rock Effect, Neudosan) or systemic insecticides (Mospilan, Sanium).
NeemAzal T/S contains azadirachtin (10.6 g/l; Azadirachtin A 1%), a limonoid compound from neem seeds. It acts as a growth regulator and feeding inhibitor: larvae that ingest treated plant tissue stop feeding, fail to complete their development, and die during metamorphosis. Adult insects show reduced fertility and limited activity. The effect is partly systemic, as the substance penetrates into the leaves and is distributed within the plant. Because of its multiple modes of action, NeemAzal T/S is considered a biological insecticide with a very low risk of resistance development and is approved for use in organic farming.
-
Application: foliar spray at the first signs of infestation, best on young larval stages. Suitable for outdoor and greenhouse use.
-
