Firs belong to the most beautiful and spectacular conifers thanks to density of needles and in many cases large sizes. Noble fir, however, and its variety “Glauca” is a slow grower, propagated by grafting which makes it suitable even for small gardens. It has striking silvery blue needles and rather irregular growth unlike its parent. Thanks to grafting, the plant produces attractive cones even when young. It likes moist, neutral to slightly acidic soil. Young plants like partially shaded location. Fully hardy.
