Firethorns are thorny evergreen shrubs, planted mostly for their abundant fruits, which rippen in the autumn, have amazing colours, pending variety. The hybrids are objectively selected to prevent pests and diseases. Navaho has bright orange fruits and a maintenance-free compact growth. Although not a climber, it is usually planted next to a wall or a hedge. It is a perfect border plant or a winter eye-catcher in an evergreen composition. Some selections bear fruits that are not too popular with birds so we can enjoy their rich colour until the spring.
