SpringCrest peach tree is another favourite growing happily in our garden and bearing fruit every year. It has proved hardy to -27°C with no damage.
It flowers in mid-season here, and early in warmer parts of the country. We suggest planting it in free space so it can feel cold, spring breeze which will delay flowering and thus prevent the flowers from frost damage.
Fruit is mid-sized on young and large on mature trees, with yellow, juicy flesh, very sweet and ripens as early as mid July.
It likes slightly alkaline soil, moist but well drained. Do not transplant bare-root trees in autumn, only in spring. Pruning is possible in mid August – cut long branches to half and remove weak ones. Reliably hardy to -27°C.
