AmerSec Head Office Building PragueDecember 2015
I have been interested in the greenery of corporate and administrative buildings ever since I used to visit England as a sales representative, especially London, where the areas marked out for greenery are calculated not in metres but in square centimetres, and yet even on such a limited area the garden designers there managed to create a beautiful and eye-catching piece of nature right in the centre of a big city. I devoured the combinations of mainly evergreen trees and tried to understand their concept. I admit that this inspiration gave me more than one wrinkle, as many of the plants used there were not suitable for our climate, yet I went to the trouble of replacing everything I found interesting and useful with ones that grow happily and easily here. That is why I am delighted with any commission from a corporate investor who really wants to invest and not just 'stick something green in there'.
The owner of this company has been a customer of ours for a couple of years and after being impressed by our work in her home garden, she approached us again this time when she decided to move the company to new premises in Vestec near Prague. The local business park is quite neat and even green in places, but the building she had acquired had planting of the cheapest kind, plus it had grown into a monstrous shrubbery, which served neither beauty nor purpose. Well, you know, what better thing could have happened to us than to wrestle with a decrepit grid à la the 80s?
