Balkan anemone is one of the first perennials to flower in early spring. The ground may still be a little untidy after winter and this tough plant pushes up short stems with blue and white flowers which planted in mass look absolutely stunning. The look especially good combined with grape hyacinth and dwarf daffodils.Description of the plant:
Blue Shades is a selection of Balkan anemone with larger and deeper violet blue flowers. They rise only a few centimeters above rich green foliage which remains nice for only about 2 months after flowering, and then the whole plant goes dormant until the next spring. This anemone like moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic, and well-drained soil. It does best in partial shade. When planted in full sun and if you live in area with cold winters make sure the plants are well mulched to keep the roots cool and away from dry frost. Hardy to approx. -27°C (USDA zone 5b).
