Ground covering stonecrops are alpine perennials which are available in so many species and varieties that anyone can find his favourite. They are cultivated for their spreading, low habit, and offer a wide range of leaf shapes and colours, as well as attractive flowers. Many of them are evergreen, others are deciduous. Caucasian stonecrop is native to most parts of Europe and West Asia (Iran, Armenia, Turkey). Spot On™ series was developed for Syngenta Flowers by Dutch breeder Henricus Godefridus Wilhelmus Stemkens and offers dense and compact plants with attractive flowering.

SPOT ON™ PINK is a Caucasian stonecrop with light pink, star-shaped flowers which usually open from mid July and flower for 3-4 weeks. They are a magnet for bees that feast on them. Evergreen leaves are small, narrowly obovate, pale green. It forms densely branched, less uniform mounds compared to its older brother SPOT ON™ DEEP ROSE, and looks great among rocks, or surrounded by white or light grey gravel in an alpine border. It is suitable for troughs and other outdoor pots. It does not require any maintenance, just remove dry stems in early spring remove dry stems (if any), and you can lightly trim the plant (if needed).

Sedum is an easy to grow, clump-forming perennial. It can take almost any soil but thrives in well-drained, slightly alkaline, sandy loam in full sun or part shade. When established it survives temporary flooding as well as drought. However, when planting make sure the soil does not manifest either extreme. Fully hardy to min. -34°C (USDA zone 4).
